Edinburgh Capital Hotel has superb, spacious banqueting suites and facilities with flexible space, ideal for a variety of wedding celebrations in Edinburgh, from the more intimate parties of 6 or more guests, to the larger reception for up to 220 people. And nearby Corstorphine Hill provides special photo opportunities

The Adam Suite is ideal for the large wedding, with the Westview being more suitable for smaller more intimate wedding ceremonies and receptions up to 80 guests

The Bride and Groom enjoy free accommodation with breakfast on the night of their wedding - the perfect end to the perfect day

By prior arrangement, we will be happy to offer special overnight accommodation rates to any of your guests wishing to stay with us. We can discuss any requirements you may have in greater detail to ensure we take the stress out of organising your special day

Can we get married at Edinburgh Capital?
Yes, Edinburgh Capital is delighted to welcome religious, civil or humanist ceremonies in both the Westview Restaurant and Adam Suite

How many wedding's do you have in any one day?
There is only ever one wedding taking place in the hotel on any one day

How many guests can stay over and do they receive a discount?
We have 111 guestrooms which includes double, twin, triple and family rooms and discounted wedding rates are available. Please note our triple and family rooms are limited and availability should always be checked as far in advance as possible

Can we organise a menu tasting?
A complimentary menu tasting for the wedding couple is included in our wedding packages

Do you cater for special dietary requirements?
Yes, we can cater for dietary requirements and you can discuss this in advance with the events team

What time will the evening reception finish and what time is your alcohol licence until?
1.00am is the latest finish time and this is in accordance with our alcohol license

Can we supply our own wine/beer/champagne?
We do not currently offer prices for corkage

Can you source special bottle beers or sprits not listed on the hotel menu?
We will endeavour to accommodate your request, please ask your events coordinator to discuss sourcing any specialised products

Is there somewhere we can store wedding presents?
The hotel is not responsible for any loss, damage or storing of wedding gifts. The guests are responsible for the movement and storage of any gifts and ensuring they are taken with them at the end of the event

Is there somewhere our band can change?
Yes, changing facilities can be arranged

Do you allow confetti?
Yes, your guests are welcome to use confetti

Do you allow candles?
Throughout the wedding breakfast and evening reception candles can be placed on the tables. There are certain restrictions during the ceremony depending on the type of ceremony. We suggest that you check the policy on candle use in advance with the organisation conducting your ceremony

Do you have parking facilities?
Yes, we have approx 100 complimentary parking spaces at the hotel

Can you recommend suppliers?
Yes, we have a list of recommended suppliers, however, guests are welcome to use whichever supplier they wish

What time can my suppliers set up from?
This depends on other hotel business, please advise your suppliers to contact the events team to arrange set up

Do you have disabled access?
Our Adam Suite is fully accessible. The Westview Restaurant is accessed via 4 steps therefore is not suitable for wheelchair users

Do you provide baby changing facilities and high chairs?
Yes, we have baby changing facilities and can provide high chairs

Do you have chair covers?
Chair covers can be sourced through our recommended suppliers list

Do you supply a cake stand a knife?
Yes, we can supply a round or square cake base and cake knife

Do prices include VAT?
Yes, all prices in our brochure include VAT at the prevailing rate

What deposit do I have to pay?
To confirm your wedding, the person responsible for the payment of the final account should sign the terms and conditions along with a non refundable and non transferable £500 deposit within 14 days of the provisional booking being made

When do I have to pay the full amount?
A further £500 non refundable and non transferable deposit will be requested 9 months prior to your wedding day. Final numbers are required 28 days prior (4 weeks) to the wedding day. A pro forma invoice for the estimated cost of your wedding, based on your final numbers, will be prepared and sent out 21 days (3 weeks) in advance. The full 100% of the estimated wedding balance is payable 14 days (2 weeks) prior to your wedding based on the final numbers. This will be the minimum number of guests charged for. Any additional costs will be calculated on the day of your wedding and the additional account is payable within 3 days by cash, debit or credit card (cheques will not be accepted for this payment). Interest on overdue accounts will accrue at the rate of 3% above the Bank of Scotland base rate from the date the account is due

Can I pay something to my wedding every month?
Yes, you are welcome to make payments towards your wedding account as you wish as long as the amounts are in line with our payment policy
